In 1993, I had just married, we moved into our 1st home, and we found Janes Burke, and "Connections" on our cable tv network, we watched every show, with amazement 😀.. He has this sometimes, not so subtle, though healthy sarcasm, that just drew us in, no matter what the topic of his show. It would society some good, 😊 to bring Connections back, for for streaming And regular TV, what's left of it. I 🤔 think it, could still help develop young minds today... And maybe help save some older, broken minds as well.. Thanks James., for everything.....
Actually it’s the Walther PP instead of the PPK shown in the films. The PP police pistol and the PPK is Police Pistol Detective. PP is a little longer.
Wow, they were actually considering user needs, not just the end appearance. Architects could learn a thing or two from them😮
jesus.. these two trying to out posh each other at the start is extremely embarrassing
1983: 700,000 in a population of 57 mil. = 1.25% penetration. This seems to be lower than the US, which apparently was about 4.3% (might be post-Commodore 64 release).
How on earth did this guy not win an Oscar?
Anyone else go on a Fead Dibnah binge every 6 months or so 😅
Beautiful, not a smartphone in sight just people enjoying the moment and going on holiday
Why aren't any of these kids considering genital mutilation? Thats supposed to be a natural occurrence is it not?
Mary had a little lamb and the doctor nearly fainted
Well my mum was from up north and my dad from the south. We lived in London. I can see both sides to this. I was a teenager then and one thing I could never get used to when we went up north was the kids taking the Mickey out of us. I would add that up north we ate very well. Maybe fish n chips once a week but everything was home cooked. Then in the south people thought the northerners were stupid.
Watching these films makes me cry, all those communities and hard working, decent people like Danny swept aside without any proper representation in the name of "progress ".

No.

Absolutely not even with Xbox 360 1 year head start in 2005😂
Also RIP Wogan! They don't make presenters and chat show hosts like him anymore.
Modern architecture is the mirror image of liberalism and Marxism. Ugliness is worshipped.
Such a legend! A truly versatile actor who did it all - war movies, drama, horror, comedy, the lot. RIP!
The naghburs breathing that gets me
Would smash a Shortstop burger
Posh as plummy
It's easier to see the stars in space than if you're say Columbus or Lief Erickson.
The earth is flat and stationary, space is fake. If you believe we actually went to the moon you’re either delusional or ignorant.
To the comments I thought. Wasn't disappointed. It all makes sense now, it was weird embittered planks like this that taught me in the 1970s.
they always say some woman invented something she didnt.
can gaming go exactly back to this?
The Spanish got bullfighting. The French got cheese. And the Irish have alcoholism. (c)
What a decent delivery full of sense and purpose This mellow and passionate expression is getting rarer
Genius
If anyone needs to be honoured by this country its James Burke, thanks for a great post.
Everyone in management speaks so nicely. No one looking at mobile phones either.
It was the 80’s they didn't have that!
It's weird to think that people used to think that Internet was going to be used for anything other than youtube, google and pornhub. Even now in 2024 there are people who says that there are other websites tho only those who try to act cool. We all know that these three are the only relevant websites.
I would love to fly on a flying boat. In elegant dress, with a nice lady next to me. :)
18 months to design a cylinder with circular lid and pivoting circular flap and display channel for everybody's cigarettes. Unbelievable! How much did the design company get paid?
I❤️you
We're in such decline
I think the rot had already set in by 1986 but was much less noticeable in polite company.
We can't get to the moon and never have.
We have a mountain of evidence that proves we did go to the moon, and a mountain of data that tells us exactly how we got to the moon.
BBC did documentaries right back then, If you want to do "content creation" for youtube or whatever, you'd do yourself a favor if you aimed to replicate this.
Always love James Burke. Never heard of this one!
Look at all those beautiful crt monitors
Kate Bush, love her
What is there to be confused about? Joy Division was greatness. Morrissey can suck rocks. Same with that Blackburn guy.
23 years later No Xbox Will never beat PlayStation 👑🎮
The presenter looks like Christopher Hitchens if he never drank or smoked
aHH THIS CRAZY TECHNOLOGY AND IT ALL COMES DOWN TO PICTURE OF WOMEN'S FEET
A spinning wobbling ball flying through space.....lol
What’s so funny about a scientifically proven fact?
Calm down😂
Despite the comfort we have with the internet, 90s were the best time. I rather we didn't have any of these advance stuff, life was nice & simple back in the days
